Story Synopsis

Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larkin and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans. For after all, a princess is a delicate thing.

Audition Details

Those auditioning should select and register for their audition time slot at the link below. Auditioners are asked to prepare and sing 30 seconds to 1 minute of a fully memorized Musical Theatre song of your choice that is in the style of the show. This song should showcase the style and vocal range of the character(s) for which you are auditioning. Vocalization may also be assessed during the audition to determine your vocal range and harmonizing abilities. Auditions will also consist of cold reads from the script.
Please bring an instrumental track WITH NO VOICES of your prepared song with you. Your track can be played on a CD or off your phone/ipad/ipod. We will supply a speaker with a connector for your phone. You may also accompany yourself with a handheld instrument (guitar, ukulele, etc). A cappella singing is NOT permitted. Auditioners may also be asked to perform a brief dance combination that will be taught at the audition. During the audition process, you will also interact with those who are in your audition group. Ages may range from 10 to 18. Please come in clothes that allow freedom of movement while allowing you to remain appropriately covered. Out of respect for the wide age range and for your safety, crop tops, tube tops, sports bras with no over shirt, short shorts or skirts, high heels, and/or open toed shoes are strongly discouraged. Hair should be styled so that it remains out of your face during the audition process.
