Irving Berlin’s White Christmas!

ArtsView Children’s Theatre is looking to cast performers ages 10 – 99 for the upcoming Fall Family Main Stage Musical, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas! All in this age range, regardless of Main Stage Production experience, are invited to audition! Auditions will be held on Thursday, September 19th and Friday, September 20th, with Call Backs on Saturday, September 21st **If you need to make alternate audition arrangements, please contact the Theatre. Alternate Audition Arrangements are possible, but not guaranteed**

Participation in auditions does NOT guarantee a role in the production.

All Main Stage Shows have a cast fee of $50. If cast, this fee is required at Cast/Parent Meeting. Cast Fee includes: T-shirt for the cast member, rehearsal CD (or digital file), costume/hair/makeup for production, etc.  (Cast Fee for fundraisers such as A Night at Copa or Broadway at the View is $25)

Any information regarding a parent/cast meeting will be given during auditions.

Story Synopsis

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages. Audition Details

Those auditioning should select and register for their audition time slot at the link below. Auditions will be in a group setting. There will be a short choreography segment, in addition to singing and cold reads. (please dress appropriately. no midriffs shown or low cut tops. no short shorts or skirts without shorts underneath. no open toed shoes, sandals, boots, or shoes with open backs.) Auditions will be held at ArtsView Children’s Theatre on September 19 & 20, 2024. Call Backs will be September 21. Please be prepared to list ALL known and possible conflicts from September 21 – November 24th. Specific dates are listed below. Casting is not guaranteed.
Please prepare a 30 – 60 second segment of a song from a Broadway Musical, preferably in the style of the show. Please note, this is a group audition. All those auditioning will sing their audition song in front of the group, as well as the Audition Panel for this show. Please also come dressed in comfortable and modest clothing that allows dance/movement, as there may be a short choreography section. (closed toe shoes that allow movement, no sandals, boots, or open back shoes, no midriff showing, no low cut tops, no short shorts, no skirts without shorts underneath, and appropriate for the entire age range, as you don’t know what ages will be in your audition group.)

Rehearsal Dates

*Our knowledge of any and all potential conflicts will help us accurately cast the show provide the best overall experience for you and the show itself. Conflicts are addressed and considered on a case by case basis. If you are involved in other activities or have a vacation/work trip/etc scheduled that may conflict time-wise with this show, please let us know on the audition sign up so we can try to best work around your other commitments to ensure you have the most opportunity for success.*

Rehearsals for White Christmas will be as follows:
September 23, 24, 26, 30 from 6-8:30pm
October 1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, 24, 28, 29, from 6-8:30pm
November 4, 5, 7, 8 (tbd) from 6-8:30pm and Tech Week November 11-15 with pick up rehearsals scheduled for November 19 & 21 (see below for Tech Week Information)
Saturdays: October 5th and 19th and November 2nd from 9-3 and November 9th from 9-5 (lunch breaks on Saturdays off site from 12 – 1:30 and are cast member’s responsibility)
Tech Week is every day November 11-24 and will include the November 22, 23, 24 show dates. During tech week, you will arrive at the theatre at your specific Call Time. Calls times may begin as early as 4:00pm on weekdays and 11:00am on weekends. The Cast will then leave at the end of the show each night. We should have a specific run time before Tech Week begins so parents will know what time to pick up their performers. November 9th is considered as a part Tech Week. Tech Week/Performance Dates ARE REQUIRED and NO CONFLICTS for those dates will be accepted.
