Audition Details

Auditions will be held in a small group format and consist of singing and cold reads from the script. We will make every effort to allow you to read for a specific character if you wish and if a side and the time is available, HOWEVER, by auditioning you understand you may not be cast in the role you want (or may not be cast at all) and agree that if you are cast, to play whatever role you are cast in to the best of your ability. We encourage our auditioners to research the show on their own to prepare for the audition and to become familiar with the story and the characters. Please come in clothes that allow freedom of movement while allowing you to remain appropriately covered. Out of respect for the age range and for your safety, crop tops, tube tops, sports bras with no over shirt, short shorts or skirts, high heels, and/or open toed shoes are strongly discouraged. Hair should be styled so that it remains out of your face during the audition process. We appreciate you dressing to impress, however, we also want you to be comfortable and able to move!
This IS a musical! Please come prepared with a 30 second – 1 minute long cut of a song in the style of this show. (any Broadway show featuring children or from the Golden Age Era. Mary Poppins, Annie, or anything from Disney, etc.) You will need to bring your music with you. Karaoke tracks of most songs can be found on YouTube and we can play the cut of your music from your device. Please know your timestamps (when to start the song and when to end the song.) There should be no vocals on your track. We want to hear YOU! You are also welcome to email your music track to the office at artsview@artsviewact.com. Please include your name, the audition slot you are registered for, and the time stamp of when to start your music. (ex: “begin track at 1 minute 13 seconds”.) Register for your audition time after reading all information here by clicking the link. Please arrive 15 minutes before your audition time to fill out required Audition Paperwork. Parents, please be prepared to help your children and available to sign the paperwork. Check the rehearsal and performance dates on the calendar here for scheduling conflicts. Be sure to list these on your Audition Sign Up and on the Audition Information Sheets that will be available at auditions. Please double check the section above for audition details and come prepared with and to perform your audition selections. All specific audition information is above and arriving prepared will help your audition experience. Please wear comfortable, modest clothing and athletic sneakers, dance/jazz shoes. You may learn a short bit of choreography to determine movement ability. Be prepared to take direction and be willing to show character traits. Please keep in mind that your audition group may include anyone ranging from the age of 8 – 13 years of age. We request your song and dress be appropriate for this age range as we cannot guarantee you won’t be in a group with a much younger or older auditioner.

Rehearsal Dates

Rehearsals are very important. We do try our best to work around conflicts that are disclosed at the time of auditions/at the Parent Cast Meeting. Conflicts will not necessarily prevent you from being cast, however this is a case by case basis depending on the amount of conflicts. Also, an addition of last minute conflicts may result in being asked to leave the show if the amount of conflicts becomes excessive or problematic.
Rehearsals will be every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and some Saturdays beginning Monday, March 23rd – April 25th. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, will rehearse from 6-8:30pm. Saturday rehearsals, March 28th and April 11th will be from 9am – 3pm and Saturday, April 25th, the rehearsal will be from 9am – 5pm. We will rehearse (or perform!) every day the week of April 27th – May 3rd, and this is known as Tech Week. Call times may begin as early as 4:30pm and we are hopeful that rehearsals will end by 9:pm, however this is dependent on the runtime of the actual show. Dress Rehearsal is April 29th at 7pm, and performance dates are April 30th, May 1st and 2nd at 7pm & May 2nd and 3rd at 2pm. *NO CONFLICTS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR April 25th – May 3rd.*
